Five in a Row curriculum

We started with the Five in a Row curriculum this week. We are loving it thus far. We started with the book Harold and the Purple Crayon. Each day I read the book to the children then we pull different lessons from the story book. Wednesday we studied different modes of transportation. Today we are going to study puns. This book has several cute puns in it. Our row with this book is being cut short this week. But once we have more experience under our belts with this curriculum we will revisit this book and go more in depth. Next week we are rowing The Story of Ferdinand. We are going to learn about Spain, Bulls, Interjections, measuring in feet and inches, cork oak trees and vultures. We are really excited about this book. We might row this book or 2 weeks. There is a lot of lessons that can be pulled from this book and I don't think we will be able to get it all done in just 5 days.
