Learning our ABC's

Addie and Ayden have been working really hard on learning their ABC's. They know all the sounds of the letters with the exception of long vowel sounds. But they are unable to recognize them by sight. So far we have worked on the letters A B C D E. They are now able to recognize and print both upper and lower case of these letters. I made a little game we play. I wrote all the letters of the alphabet both upper and lower case on squares of construction paper and put them in a brown paper bag. They reach in and pull out a slip of paper and if they are able to tell me what the letter is they get to keep that piece. If they are not able they have to put it back in the bag. Whoever has the most slips at the end of the game is the winner. They really enjoy this game and try really hard to win.
