Home Tour Part 2 Kitchen

Here  is where it all began. As we all know the kitchen is freshly repainted. Now there's other things that need to be done.
016
The big cabinet is our pantry. The stand next to it is a rolling kitchen island type thing. It holds the toaster oven and extra baking dishes. On the wall with the star I'm wanting to hang some all white country looking plates. I figure 3 of them. Not sure on all that yet.
017  Stove central. Not much here. I am on the hunt for some type of cute picture for above the stove. I'm thinking it's also time for new burner covers.
018 One end of the kitchen counter. That door there leads to the living room. This area is a major hot spot. Everything collects here. So that's an on going thing.
019 Sink. Please over look the dirty dishes. I was to lazy to stick em in the dishwasher before I made the picture.
020 The other end of the counter. Our second biggest hot spot in the house. The wallpaper will be changed. I don't really know to what yet.
021Built in shelves. Holds our spices, jellies, BBQ sauces and boxed crackers. We also keep our Capri Suns stacked here. There are 27 boxes there.
022 Top of the fridge is where the microwave lives, due to the lack of counter space. We also keep opened boxes of cereal and chips up there. I need to straighten that up.
015 The last corner of the kitchen. As you can see here is where all my over flow tp and paper plates gets dumped. That door there leads to the basement. The door you see to the left leads to the laundry room. Only thing here is to find all that stuff a place to live.
Well that wraps up the kitchen. Next up laundry room.

Till next time,

Bridget

House Tours

Painting the kitchen lit a spark in me. This happens every so often. Now I've decided to do a home tour of each room and a list of things I want/need to get done. I do ask in advance that you not think badly of me when this is finished. So here goes.
Room 1 is the Living Room

011 Tv area, the black trunks with the lamp on top work as a end table for the recliner. David is currently laid out asleep in said recliner. So it's not really visible. The top of the Tv cabinet is full of picture frames, a lamp and some green ivy. Most of the frames don't have pictures in them yet. That's going on my to do list.

012 Across from the Tv area is this. Nothing big. Don't mind Nicholas laid out on the couch. The one thing I'd love to change about this area is the way that curtain hangs. I've tried everything to make it hang like the other window treatment. Moving on.

010 Computer area. This is right next to the kitchen . Really no complaints here. We just set this area up a couple of months ago. See how much better the curtain in this pictures hangs compared to the one in the above picture.
014
Front Door. Lot's to do here. For starters all those shoes. Buried under there is a great shoe rack. All I need to go is throw out some shoes and pack away winter boots/shoes. I want to repaint the door. The inside new coat of white. The outside 3rd coat of green. No other complaints here. The door to the left there leads into the master bedroom. Where more kids than adults sleep. I need that on my to do list.
Next room: Kitchen
Till next time,

Spur of the moment kitchen redo

Any one who knows me, knows I'm a spur of the moment kinda gal. I'd been wanting my kitchen repainted, but couldn't decide on a color. It was all white when we moved here. I can't stand white walls. So I painted them a cranberry type color. I didn't like it from the beginning but I lived with it. 5 yrs of that came to a head in Lowe's paint department. Tonight. I was on a mission to find a color I loved. Not like. Love. Not tolerate. Love.
and
Then I spied it! A nice pretty blue. I can't at the moment find the card with the exact name on it. oh well. story of my life. So any ways. I come home about 8pm and thought, I'm painting this kitchen. So I moved everything out into the center of the room. Scrubbed down walls with Lysol wipes. And got to painting. Mid way there was a slight hang up. Well maybe a tad more than slight. See for your self
003 Yea you guessed it. I walked into the open gallon of paint and well you can guess what was next. This picture was made after 75% had been cleaned up. All is well now. So let me see if I can find any before pictures.
                  Before:

I'm very happy with the end results. $42.00 and 4 hours of my sweet time. And I'm in love with my kitchen again.
Till next time,

A new living room!

Well not really..lol. But I did rearrange it this morning. I also added a coffee table in the mix. I love it. Hubby is excited to get home and see it all. Here are some pics.

The couch moved to the other end of the room. Behind the couch and in front of the window I have an old trunk with some flowers and picture frame on it.

These are the flowers. They are in an old old mayo jar we found it out in the woods and cleaned it up. These are dried roses that I carried when I was in my sisters wedding back in June.

This is a better view of the small trunk. I love old trunks. My living room is small and I still managed to squeeze 4 of them in there.

This is the other end of the room going toward the kitchen. You'll notice the quilt still hanging behind the tv. That is coming down I just didn't feel that spunky today :)

This is the other old black trunk. It's much bigger than the one behind the couch. I am going to hunt for some old books to set that lamp on to elevate it. Until then 4 stamp sets covered with a primitive towel will have to do.

This is one of my favorites. Its an old trunk with an even older white metal counter for a top. The best part about it is it didn't cost us one penny. We found the trunk in a building behind our house when we moved here and the top in the attic. I think I'm going to paint the trunk and take that metal off of it. Any ideas on what color I should paint it?

This is another view of the coffee table.

Come in take a tour of my home :)

This is the Living Room. It is small but cozy! The quilt on the wall in the first picture was handmade by my great grandmother as a wedding present to me and my hubby.

This is the kitchen. It's also small but we love it. The large cabinet by the stove is my pantry. It's nice and roomy holds all the things I need it to.

This is the laundry room. We live in an old house. Built 1940 so it has no closets. We keep most of our clothes in the laundry room, hanging and in 2 dressers. The large blue tote under the hanging clothes is where I keep all our extra sheets and blankets.

The is one of only 2 small closets we have. This is in the laundry room and holds cleaning supplies, iron & board. I also have a laundry basket under the bottom shelf for dirty clothes.

Here's the dining room. It's off the kitchen. It has our bedroom, the stair case and the bathroom off it. We have a nook table set. It fits perfectly like it was made for this room. We lucked up and bought it used for 1/2 the original cost. It has a second chair I had it at the computer when I made this picture.

Here's our one and only bathroom. It has the 2nd small closet in it.

I sectioned off one end of our bedroom with king size sheets. We use 1/2 of this area for storage and the other half for our clothing. The top shelf holds sleep pants, sleep tops and Davids uniforms. The 2nd shelf holds pants and shorts. The top of the dresser has tee shirts.

I didnt make pictures of the upstairs or the rest of our bedroom. The kids rooms are upstairs. I'll also make more pics of our bedroom.
