Coupons and SAHMS

Today was a great day. We ran to town. Got taco bell and took it to the park. The kids ran and had a blast. Was a tad chilly though. I ran into walgreens and my fav cashier was working. I got all my .24 Edge shaving gels and my other 2 free deodorants. I'm up to 30 in Register Rewards. Money Money. This was an awesome week at Walgreens. 11 shaving gels @ $2.00 = $22.00 and 4 deodorants @ $5.99 each = $24.00. My grand total spent $1.50!
I also ran by Food Lion. Great couple of days there as well. Yesterday my total was $50.xx. I paid $9.07. Today I spent $37 saved $31. So for $46 I got 6 Kraft salad dsg, 6 A1 steak marinades , 6 Smuckers ice cream toppings, express salad kit, 12 packages of hot dogs, 7 boxes of pasta, 2 cans of mushrooms, 6 danion yogurt 4 packs, 3 bags of shredded cheese, a tub of cottage cheese, 2 tomatoes, Jug of orange juice  and a $5 watermelon.  Comes out to be .85 an item. I loves me some coupons. Have I said that before?
Wonder hubby is off tomorrow as well. I love his off days. For some reason I just feel more relaxed when he's here. When I'm flying solo I worry. Why I don't know. Not like I've not done it a million times with my babies. I've pretty much been a sahm their whole lives. Worked part time here and there nothing much.
I've noticed on a lot of blogs here lately the debate of working moms v/s SAHMS. I'd like to say right up front I'm not out to hurt feeling , just stating my opinions.
I really feel like I am where the Lord wants me. That doesn't mean it's easy and always fun. Ha. Far from it. But out of everything I've tried to do on my own this has by far been the most rewarding. I'm not gonna lie. There are days I wanna pull my self bald and beat my head on a wall. Days when the house is destroyed and the kids are wild and all I want to do is just close my eyes. But the great thing , is that each day is a fresh start. Everyday we can reset attitudes and start all over.
Of course as I'm writing this. My 3 little angles are sound asleep in their beds. If they where up bouncing off the walls this whole post might have a much different mood to it.
So lets here it moms. Do you work? Are you a SAHM? What's the pros and cons?

Attack of the Hiccups

I went to bed with hiccups. Had the hardest time falling asleep. I'm up less than an hour this morning and I've got the hiccups again! They hurt. Plain and simple. I also feel like I've been beat. I can tell I'm no longer a spring chicken. I'm sore from painting but I'm so glad I got it done and my kitchen put back together.
Eric's yearly memorial service is at 2:50 today. It's amazing how long he's been gone. Don't make sense.

Now if you all will excuse me I've got to load my baby in her stroller and head to a yard sale. Enjoy your weekend!
Till next time,
Bridget

Random Stuff

Howdy. The weekend is almost here. I've got to run some errands today. Use up some coupons that are fixing to expire. I got the house all picked up last night so I won't have much cleaning to do today. I'm still surfing along on the laundry wagon. I've done a load daily. I love having it all caught up.
I'm itching to get the back yard done. I've got all kinds of things planned out in my mind. I am going to take before and after pictures of it all. The only problem is monies. That's always the problem. Sigh. Oh well. It would be a pretty boring life if you never wanted for anything. I went to Wal-mart with my girl Wednesday night and we strolled around the lawn and garden dept. looking at plants. There are some really pretty one.
Here's some pictures I feel like sharing for no good reason.

sexy time These didn't come from the lawn and garden dept. but ole' girl will enjoy none the less.

004 Isn't this rainbow beautiful? The picture doesn't do it justice. It was by far the brightest bow of colors I've ever seen.

001 Anytime I'm showing pictures I have to show off my babies.

012 Addison and I. Is she not the prettiest little girl you've ever seen?

001 Ayden has a thing about spiking his hair. He's so handsome.

002 And a front view.

004 Can you believe Stinky is still around? Poor thing. He lost an eye a long time ago.

003 Can't forget about Gray Dog. Just for the record, Gray Dog is a SHE! And she doesn't like being called a he.

011 Here is Addison's lip after her fall on the stairs. If you missed that little tid bit you can read it here.

012 Here's the best picture we could get of the inside. I am happy to report that she is all healed up. Amazing how fast the mouth heals.

Till Next time,

The Good. The Bad. The Sad.

G' morning errr Afternoon. I suppose. I haven't been outside yet but it looks soooo pretty out today. I don't think we are due any rain today. I do think it's suppose to rain tomorrow.  Mom and dad came over to pick up the BBQ sauce my awesome hubby made and loved it. They stayed a bit and we chatted. As hubby and I started cooking supper Addison fell going UP the stairs. Of course I rushed to see who was hurt and found her with blood pouring out of her mouth. SCARED me to DEATH! She tore her lip away from her gum. Hard to explain really. Last night her mouth didn't look to awful bad. Upper lip swelled the size of her head. But no bruising or such. This morning is all together a much different story. Bless.Her.Heart! Her poor mouth looks AWFUL! Lip still huge. Entire inside one big ole' bruise. Outer lip is also bruised. But surprisingly enough she says it doesn't hurt. Hurts me just looking at it. I'm just so thankful she is ok. The upside to her still missing her front teeth is if they had been there she would have knocked them out. OUCH!
We have some pretty exciting weekends coming up. Exciting by our standards any ways. lol. Saturday the 23rd, Hubby and I are going on a canoe trip. 12miles~6hours. This of course will be kid free. My mom said she would keep my hellions angels. June 3rd is the start of the annual yard sale trip. My mil, granny, Addison and I are leaving on a 2 night 3 day adventure into yard sale land. WE love it. This will be Addison's first year going. We leave out one Wednesday and drive about 3 hours away to the starting point of the yard sales. We get a hotel room and chill and get early early Thursday morning and start looking for bargains. It's so much fun. David and the boys are going to do something fun and boyish while we are gone. They haven't decided what that activity is just yet. And that ends the exciting stuff.
Wednesday the 27th I go to get my allergy testing done. That should be interesting. I will however, be glad to start some type of allergy shots so I can once again enjoy the outdoors. Because camping season is almost here!!! YAY!!! We LOVE LOVE LOVE to camp! We can not wait!
Please keep sweet little Kayleighs family in your thoughts and prayers. Little Kayleigh went home to the Lord last night. Even though it was expected it still wasn't the ending everyone had prayed for. Expected or not, it's still so heart wrenching for her family. Please pray they will feel the comfort of the Lord during this very hard time.
Till next time,
Bridget

Happy Monday

Just another Monday here at the Traylor house. School is done. Cleaning is as done as it's gonna get. I'm thinking a nap sounds pretty darn good right now. My allergies are acting up and they make me want to just lay my head down.
Mom and I went coupon shopping last night and got some great deals. The best would have to be an Air Wick Starter Kit. Normal price $12.00 on sale for $6.00 and we had $4.00 coupons. So we only paid $2! Woot Woot.
I also picked up some white crates for the laundry room to keep our lounge clothes in. Our house was built back before people needed closets. So every piece of clothing we own stays in the laundry room. There are 2 long rods. The kids shirts and Addison's dresses hang above the washer and dryer. The other rod is where all me and hubby's  shirts hang. There are also 2 dressers. One houses the boys pants and shorts the other Addison's pants and shorts and all of their sleep clothes. A square tote houses all the socks and our undies. I do not match up socks. I despise it. Come winter I've decided I am throwing out every sock in this house and buying new. It's time. They all look really bad any ways. I love love love that I don't have to pack clothes all over this house. I know me and I know they would never get put away. They'd just sit in baskets in the laundry room any ways.
I think I'm going to go lay my head down now. My parents are coming over to pick up some BBQ sauce so I'm going to grab a nap before they get here.
Till next time,
Bridget

Ramblings and a few important things.

I for some reason, can't seem to stick with this blogging business. I need to put a sticky on my desk that says " Hey you got a blog. Go blog on it! ". I might remember then. Sigh. Old age sucks!
Anyway's moving on. smile_regular
Things are going pretty darn well around here. Warm weather FINALLY arrived. We had several really pretty days and now it's back to rainy and chilly. Not really cold just not warm either.
Home School is going great. No regrets there. Still REALLY REALLY glad we decided to join the weirdo's . Every now and then something will happen that reminds me that we live a totally different life style than most. The kids are learning. I was worried about that part. I LOVE that our life isn't run run run. That crap would drive me crazy. Life is to darn short to not spend some quiet time at home with just the family.
Let's see what else. I'm still a coupon addict. Yesterday I rocked Walgreens! Left with a big ole smile plastered across my face. Then went back in and done it again! I've been waiting a long time for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to go on sale. I held out hope that one day my dream of a coupon and a sale at the same time would happen. My dream came true yesterday! .65 for a box of 2!! I am now the very proud owner of 40 Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! That should last me a long while. Sad I know. Nothing screams old crazy housewife better than that. Either way it still tickled my fancy.
Speaking of coupons and getting stuff free, I found a wonderful charity in South Africa. You can check it out here. It's a wonderful group of ladies that make the cutest little bags for new mothers. They fill each bag with baby items and a few items for the mother as well. There are a lot of very poor people in need in parts of SA. They love and very much need donations. So for all you coupon girls who get tons of toothpaste and toothbrushes think about sending them to Bosom Buddies. They can sure put them to a very good use.
Till next time,
Bridget

The weekend is here...yippie!

Today was an average day around here. School was done. Kids running playing fighting. The twins and I ran to the grocery while David and Nick went to Wal-mart to get a new tire for his truck.

I have a master shopping list that I print each Friday and type up and print out a new menu for the week. I check everything I need and how many and me and the kids hit the store. It takes us about 20 min's and we are out of there. Shopping with a menu and list makes it so much easier. I use to despise going. Now I love it. It's a challenge to see how low I can get our grocery bill. This week was higher than normal. I needed some staples and I got charged for a package of meat that I didn't have. Oh well I suppose. This week I bought groceries for 21 meals for 5 people. The total was 143.19. So we averaged 1.36 a person each meal. Not to bad! Sure can't eat out for that. Tonight we are going to supper at my mom and dads.

David and Nick still aren't home. Addie and Ayden are vacuuming the dining room. Having a blast. No telling what all they've sucked up. Prolly stuff I'll be hunting for the next month and won't find till I empty the canister on the vac. The joy of kids..:)

Next weeks schooling is all planned out. Lesson plans are finished. I got on the net today and printed off our health and social studies lessons. We didn't get to our science lesson today. So I just pushed it onto next Friday. It's a unit study about dino's.

Well I'm off to my parents. Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless
